Yes, we at Travel Score believe that property owners have the right to protect themselves from visitors with a bad history and that right should be free.

We treat any information entered into our platform as STRICTLY confidential and strive to be 100% POPPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act), compliant at all times.

Being a member of Travel Score is almost like being a user of the popular True Caller App which identifies accurately who is calling you. The True Caller App is also heavily dependent on their members to provide the crucial information needed to be relayed to other members.

To ensure that members on our platform are actually in the business of accommodation hosting we request this information.

This is the link you would provide to any potential guest so they can find your property on 3rd party hosting platforms like Airbnb or Travel ground. Example: https://www.lekkeslaap.co.za/akkommodasie/sunset-farm

Firstly, the address is also used by Travel Score to ensure that our members are actual hosts. Secondly, Travel Score is always looking at new ways to assist our members in preventing bad visitors being allowed on to your property so part of our back-end processes is to identify repeat offenders and track their movements around towns and neighborhoods, thus allowing us to pre warn hosts in specific areas.

Yes, we have received feedback from members that they have had enquiries from potential visitors and after they mentioned that they are Travel Score members some enquiries went silent.

Members can select the report an incident tab form the menu and complete the form.

We advise our clients to report incidents as soon as possible so other members can be alerted ASAP. A good example is habitual non payers move from one guest house to another normally staying in an area where they work or kids go to school. So, if they are removed from a property in the morning, they actively start looking for the next opportunity to stay rent free.

Our members can search phone numbers related to these incidents immediately after creation.

This information helps us to build movement profiles of repeat offenders and to provide more accurate pre warning reports to hosts.

Currently members are allowed to search our database using a potential guest’s phone number. If a matching phone number is found in our database we will provide the dates for the previous incidents, the type (Non payer, Prostitution, theft, etc.) and a partial name. (Due to the Poppi act and the possibility of defamation of character law suits)) The partial name is enough information for members if they have been provided the correct guest’s name to compare.

Travel Score will NEVER share your member details or the name of your establishment with anyone.

Very much so and we encourage hosts to create these incidents. Repeat offenders is a major problem in the short-term rental space and a leopard don’t change its spots.

The best advice is to create an incident for each phone number. If more than one guest stayed over try to get as much information as possible for example car registration, make model and color. Travel Score incident reporting has various special input fields.

Yes, a guest can contact info@travelscore.co.za and we will contact the host to confirm the details of the incident before making a decision.
